Your friends dared you to spend the night in the cemetery and you accepted the challenge. Describe your experience.

Answer the prompt using descriptive words. Don't just say you were scared or brave, but explain what you saw, heard, felt, and smelled as you were in the cemetery all night. Use your imagination and paint a picture with your words! This must be at least 4 sentences. Once you have made your post, go read one of your classmate's posts and respond to it.

  1. It was already late; fog settled in around the tombstones, carrying with it every tiniest sound. Angels cut in stone seemed to hover above the fog, their eyes vacant, their arms outstretched in what seemed a mournful surrender. I reminded myself that I didn't believe in ghosts. I explained away every eerie disturbance as natural nocturnal events while peeking over grave markers and peering into the east for a brightening sky.

  2. It was really dark and i heard dogs howling in the distance and there was a big tree and i went over to it and i was going to go to sleep. A couple hours later i woke up to footsteps and i backed up close to the tree and the footsteps kept getting louder and louder and then it stopped i turned around and it was a door that the wind was blowing.

    1. Isn't it weird how your imagination can run away with you? Oh, and what door? Was there a door in the tree? That would be weird.

  3. My friends dared me to spend the night at a cemetary. I was very scared because dead peoples spirt could come back to life and the spirts did so then they followed me home. And then they haunted me for life and then one day I got killed by a ghost and the ghost forever lived in my house.

  5. Nothing happended actually because there's no such thing as zombies. So I just sat by a tree prayed before bed like always and drifted to sleep. I woke up to pee once, nothing scary happened, so I just went back to sleep. Soon enough it was day and I went back home.

  7. It was late and cold and scary. All you could hear was the wind whistling. Sense the wind is blowing you can hear the trees moving. Every time the trees moved i always that it was someone trying to scare me. I finally realized that it was just the trees. I came over my fear and i started to enjoy the silence and i started to explore. It was very interesting. Next thing i know its day time, and i go home and explain everything to my friends

  9. At first I was creeped out and scared by every sound I heard, like the rustling leaves or the sound of imaginary footsteps.Later I just drown out the sounds and it wasn't scary. The fog and cold gravestones were just objects and I felt nothing about them...That was until my friends decided to scare me from behind.

  10. I tread through the long grass being as careful as possible. The trees around me remind me of things I've seen in my nightmares. I hated cemeteries. I didn't even have a flash light with me so I couldn't see anything besides the dim moon light. The cemetery smelled like my mothers cooking after it sat in the fridge for weeks. I couldn't wait for this to be over.

  13. When i spent the night at the cemetary and i was a little on the edge about it but as the night went on i worried less and less. While i layed there in my sleeping bag i heard crackling of the leaves and trees and it sounded peaceful. I liked laying in the my tent looking at the stars through the top of my tent. I got scared as it got almost morning because i started hearing people coming into the cemetary and so i tried to be as quite as possible because i dont want anyone to hear me and wonder why the hell i was sleeping in the cemetary because if i saw someone sleeping in the cemetary i would be so confused. So all i have to say is that this was a wierd expierence for me.

  15. It was pitch black, as dark as it could be. I wasn't scared because well, I haven't felt anything in a while. I look up and something creeps out of the darkness it looks at me, it's dark eyes pointed in my direction. He walks slowly, one leg drags behind him, skin falling off of his face, he's a zombie.

    1. Freakin' zombies! The "skin falling off of his face" is gross. I also think it's interesting how you describe yourself as "not having felt anything in a while." That's perhaps scarier than zombies.

    2. That would be very very weird and I would be very scared because if it was dark and their were zombies and their is a lot of details.

  17. It was really late and a storm was rolling in. I love the smell of rain and all but I don't like to be outside in it. I walked around for a bit it started to sprinkle. I noticed a look out sort of building. I went to the lookout and the place was abandoned. It had cobwebs and dust every where. It smelled of mildew. I decided to stay there anyways it was better than rain. There was a desk and a chair. I went over to the chair dusted it off and sat down. On the desk in front of me was a newspaper and a flash light. I shinned the light on the newspaper and dusted it off. I started to read it out loud to pass some time as I was reading I read "recent cemetery night guard found dead in look out". The words barely left my mouth. I dropped the newspaper and got up I looked around the room and I saw a huge pool of blood i ran out of there into the storm I was running when I looked back I ran into a tree and screamed because it scared me. I caught my breath. Luckily I had a rain coat. I put at the base o the tree. i sat on it and leaned against the tree as I was holding the flash light i was just glad it wasn't a cold rain. I slowly drifted off to sleep slowly. I woke every now again at the little things in the night.I woke up just in time to see the sun rise. Once it rose i bolted out the front gate I must of seemed paniced because they asked me what was wrong. " Nothing I just wanna be inside" I said as I lied from my teeth. I was just happy to be out of this place.

  18. First off i know i would be very scared and I would try and find like a little shack and hide in their all night then if i did that zombies would come out of their graves and attack me and i would have to run. Once I escaped them i would leave the cemetary because i would be to scared.

  19. I said I was up for the dare I wouldn't be scared at all, it would just be like a camping trip. I would set up my tent and get ready to sleep. I woke up to a strange sound I couldn't return to slumber, but my curiosity got the better of me. I opened my tent and went towards the noise I could barely see a thing. I heard giggles and as I looked over the tombstone and saw my friends. None of them saw me so I thought it would be funny to scary them. Lets just say I wasn't the one who wished they brought a change of clothes.

  25. So my friends said they would pay me one hundred dollars for spending one night in the cemetery.I thought it wouldn't be so bad but little did I know my imagination would take over. You know in movies when there is always zombies, vampires, ghosts and all of that stupid stuff. The only thing I should have been scared of was my imagination. I was sleeping there in a tent when I heard the wind start to howl. I heard some groaning and some awkward noises. I went outside to see what it was. I saw nothing. Then I saw A ghost appear. I thought it was a ghost at the time. I wen't up to go touch it. Then I found my self by a river in the cemetery. I was walking around and I felt dizzy. Then I started to run back to my tent. Then I got attacked by zombies. I think I did at least. An old lady appeared in the morning and said I had been just around and had been going crazy this whole time. She said I had been sleeping the whole entire night and it was just a dream. I ran out of the cemetery and back to mhy house. So much for a hundred bucks.

  26. It was practically pitch black when I got to the cemetery, as I opened and closed the gate to go in, the gate made a really loud high pitched creaking sound. I was glad I brough a flashlight, or else I would've stepped on everyone's graves and tripped on their headstones. I found a spot under a large tree to sleep. There was fog everywhere and it basically completely obscured my vision as I layed down. The spot I was at smelled really musty, but it was the best I could find. It was freezing too, I was glad I brought my warmest blanket. I tried to fall asleep as quickly as I could. By morning, I ridiculously felt lucky to be alive. I mean come on, it was only a cemetery...

  31. I walked around hearing noises while shivering to the cold wind blowing through the trees. I brought my gear for a mini camp out under a tree. I looked around the tombstones and jumped when I saw a bat flying through. I went back into my tent and opened my laptop to distract me from the spooky vibe the cemetery gave off. ( I have box that has wifi connections and a plug in lol)

  32. It's calm. Peaceful almost. The inky black sky, the cool floating breeze. That is, until you remember that it's a cemetery. I put my headphones in so that I don't have to be creeped out my every crack of a twig or hoot of an owl. The last thing that I remember before I fall asleep is the smell of damp earth and fresh rain.

  36. When I went to the cemetery I had second thoughts and said I wanted out, but when I turned around they were no where to be found. I took a deep breath and moved forward taking one step at a time looking around for a good place for me to sleep, then I remember that I didn't grab my blanket. I signed and then when I saw a good place there was a boy, but thought why would a boy be here at night time the boy turned around looking at me I stopped walking. The boy asked, "Do you know where I am." I replied very softly, "You are at a cemetery where dead people are bared, but why is a little boy like you here." The boy then stood up and whoosh I was out when I woke up I was at an unfamiliar place no it was an abandon house the boy appeared in front of me he said, "Will you say with me forever and ever and ever and ever and......" I screamed ran out the house and before I knew it I was in the cemetery under the tree where I saw the little boy. I panted then took a deep breath stood up and saw my friends running towards me, they asked me "where were you, you were gone for 3 months." My eyes widen I fell to the ground and remembered that I was in the spiritual world being chased and then I can't remember what happen next, but I answered "I was with a little boy."

  37. There a was a cool breeze. The sky was not yet totally black. I had a constant worry about what my mother would think about what I was doing. The air smelled of musty dirt from the ground. The grass was damp and I could feel it seeping though my blanket. I could tell it was going to be a long night.

  38. By the time I got there, it was already dark. Gates were locked, but a while ago my friends showed me a way to get in where I wouldn't get caught. Lets keep in mind, this is a cemetery. I've always been interested in crazy, spooky things, so I wasn't as scared as I'd be if I didn't like those things. At first, I didn't know what to do. I was there alone. Without my electronics. I had a flashlight and a sleeping bag. About half an hour goes by and I hear a few things. I was expecting it considering I'm outside in the middle of the night. It was just my friends trying to scare me, but honestly I think I scared them instead! We all sat around one of the largest tombstones in the cemetery and told stories. A few hours went by of us just talking about life and making new memories. We all heard footsteps. The sound of steps on leafs. Nobody would visit a cemetery at two in the morning, unless they were doing what we were doing. We started to get worried as we saw flashlights and the footsteps getting closer towards us. It was the police. We were arrested for trespassing and being out passed our curfew. Our parents had to pick us up the next morning at the police station. It was good in the beginning, but soon became bad. I still had a fun and crazy experience with the friends that I love!

  39. So my friends dared me to spend the night in the cemetery and I accepted the challenge. I don't know why I accepted this challenge but I did, maybe it was because i did't wanna look like I was scared even know I was. When we got there i swear I heard something but when I told someone they would't believe me. I tried to open the door but it was locked. So I said "oh well lets go home". Then my friend said "I knew you were scared". So I went and grabbed a big rock and smashed the glass in the door then opened the door. I didn't wanna go inside but I knew I had too. So when I went inside it looked like someone used to live there before so I didn't even know if someone was still there but I was walking up the stairs and when I got to the top the first thing I saw was a little girl walking down the hallway I was so frightened but I couldn't leave so I just told myself it wasn't real. I was almost asleep and I started hearing things. I couldn't take it anymore so I secretly left and went home and fell asleep but I am so happy I left because the next morning I was watching the news and I saw that the building cought on fire so I lost the bet but I saved my life.

  40. It all started with a game of truth or dare. Then it came to my turn and i said dare so my friend Brittney talked to the other people at the party which were Quasha and Dalton so she said to go to the cemetary up the road and spend the night there. I dont like to back out of dares so i went up stairs and got everythng i needed. I got to the cemetary and i layed everything out and layed on my sleeping bag then got on my phone and got on netflix. I was sitting there watching my favorite show in netflix when i heard a moaning sound that sounded like a zombie. So i put my phone down and decided to get up and look. I ended up running into a zombie and the zombie tried to eat me. The zombie smelled so bad i did not want to smell it every again. I just wanted to get out of there. But when i went to leave there was a ghost that said you cannot leave. I was so scared but then i started to see things like i was imagining i was at home but when i wento to go sit on my couch it disapeared. It turns out i was imagining all of that i have been dead for 2 and a half years and the zombie was me.

  41. The night that I go there I figure out how to build a tent and then I made a pa-lit inside and I just lay there and listen. I hear something I cant quiet figure whats the noise is but I listen and try to figure it out. After a while I start to smell this weird smell I didn't quiet stink but I didn't smell the best either. I didn't care I just continue to lay there im kinda scared but at the same time im not at all. I had some food but I stopped eating it because it had this weird after taste. then when I was staring of into space I heard noises again and then I saw shadows around the tent. all my friend scared me and I thought they were dead bodies coming to get me.
